What person are you in a relationship

By Akinolabar

Have you experienced a longing to connect, but something kept disrupting the closeness you wanted? The intimacy we want may seem so close, yet sadly elusive. Feeling emotionally safe is an essential foundation for any intimate relationship.

Although not easy to build, it creates the necessary climate for closeness. Feeling emotionally safe means feeling internally relaxed with a person. We feel free to let down our guard and show our authentic self, including our hurts, fears, and longings. Defensiveness is one of four key factors along with criticism, contempt, and stonewalling that lead to troubled relationships, according to researcher John Gottman. What we often defend against is potential criticism, blaming, shaming, or rejection.

As we feel consistently held with respect, kindness, and caring, we relax with a person. As we trust that our partner or friend has the intention, interest, and capacity to see us, hear us, and understand us—even if they fall short sometimes—we relax more and more with them, which strengthens the foundation for intimacy.

It takes two self-aware and undefended people who are emotionally honest with themselves and each other to enjoy the dance of intimacy. But the resulting isolation may lead to a dry and empty existence. As two people feel safe to be vulnerable with each other—expressing tender feelings and desires without fearing criticism or rejection—the connection grows.

Emotional safety also requires truth-telling and keeping agreements. Authentic, open communication is the life-blood of an intimate relationship. Of course, no one is perfect, including ourselves.

Trust will be inevitably broken, even in the best of relationships. But emotional safety can be restored through a mutual willingness to address the breach through open, non-defensive dialogue, such as by using the non-violent communication approach developed by Marshall Rosenberg. We have to be available before our hearts can be affected. And we have to be present before we can be intimate. Taking the risk to show ourselves lets us sense whether or not we feel emotionally safe enough to continue being open and vulnerable.

If we never take the risk to reveal our feelings and wants in a non-defended way, we may never give the relationship a chance to deepen.

Love is the glue that keeps a relationship strong and solid. It is deeply biological. But what is love, and how do you know if you are truly in love? People often get confused between lust, attraction, and companionship.

Mother nature gives us a big dose of infatuation in order to get us together initially. Love does include sexual chemistry, but it differs because it is an emotion that takes time to build.

Lust can appear in an instant; love evolves over a period of time as you get to know the other person inside and out. You may be immensely sexually-attracted to your partnerbut that does not mean you understand the true definition of love.

How to explain love and relationship? To start with, a loving relationship is not built in a day. The threads of love take time to weave together to form a strong bond. It is only as you and your partner share your thoughts, fears, dreams, and hopes that love takes root. It has its own timetable that needs to be respected and not hurried. Thankfully so, or we would never recover from our high school crush, or losing a partner to divorce or death.

In a truly loving relationship, we give to the other without an expectation of return. Giving pleasure to our partner gives us pleasure, too. When we see that they are sad or depressed, we feel their blue mood, too. What is true love? Well, w hen we love, we act respectfully and kindly towards each other. You've been dating that special someone for awhile now and established that you aren't seeing other people.

You've told each other enough about your lives that you can name his crazy aunt, favorite uncle, and his childhood best friend. You can get away with not shaving for a few days.

And let's be real, his body is no waxed wonderland every single day either. You leave little things at each other's places.

You have face wash and underwear at his apartment and he has a toothbrush and gym sneakers at yours. Basically, the bare necessities are taken care of in the event of any impromptu sleepovers. He knows about certain bodily functions. There's no longer that awkward introduction at social events. Well, you no longer sound like: "This is my…uhh…. This Crazy Test Can Accurately Say Who You Really Are

I have to thank Helena for everything she did for us, including sorting the slight hiccup that occurred in our pickup from Oslo airport. The documentation presented to us was 1st class, maps, travel information, and we much appreciated the DVDs from Hurtigruten. We loved everywhere we travelled, Trondheim, cruising the Fjords, Bergin, perhaps Flam was a highlight, getting there, the accommodation, the included meal, the train ride. As it turned out we did the train from Flam to Myrdal twice as the train to Oslo could not operate due to snow, so they sent us back to Flam and then a bus to Oslo.

Many thanks to Nordic Visitor and Helena, maybe Iceland is next. Your staff was very helpful setting up the trip with our special requests and making sure things were right while we were on the trip. Our primary purpose for the trip was to see and photograph the Northern Lights, which we were able to do 2 lovely nights in a row.

But the entire trip was great -- Iceland and its people are wonderful and we definitely want to return. We have traveled independently many times but with a short stay of one week decided that going through a travel company would help us make best use of our time- and the ability to do a 'facilitated' self guided tour was perfect for us.

What Is the True Meaning of Love in a Relationship?

We all agreed it was the best short break holiday we have ever had THANK YOU!. The information package was so good that a meeting with my travel agent was not required. The map was so detailed we rarely needed anything else. All sites were thoughtfully laid out and were excellent. The package could not have been better. Hotels were all excellent and meals they provided were well above expectations.

We had a wonderful experience. Alexandra was such a pleasure to work with and helped us book a wonderful stay. We loved the welcome package--the map was so helpful with all of the highlighting of where we'd be staying, what route we'd take, and the sites we could see along the way.

We used that map in conjunction with the book we received, the itinerary and just one book that we brought along with us. We were able to see so many wonderful and beautiful things (things which weren't even on the itinerary--but that we just happened to pass by).

We stopped by a town called Olafsvik for lunch one day and absolutely fell in love with its charm. Same with Husavik--loved that town. All of our accommodations were very comfortable and at great stopping points in between sites.

Thank you so much for everything. We really can't wait to get back (it was so sad to leave Iceland. We'll surely be booking something else for the wintertime so we can come see the Aurora Borealis and the beautiful snow. The itinerary was fabulous, and we were very pleased with our accommodations.

From the moment we arrived in Iceland to the moment we departed, everything went off without a hitch. We couldn't be happier with your service. Our overall experience was very good and we would definitely be happy to recommend Nordic Visitor to friends and family. I usually book all our vacations myself and was a little nervous about handing the vacation over to a stranger, but Nordic Visitor has changed my mind.

She answered all my questions quickly and thoroughly and was very easy and pleasant to work with even as I peppered her with nearly daily e-mails during the planning process.Gambling is never a reliable source of supplementary income. Read on to find out why.
